Each vehicle manufacturer has different required procedures that need to be addressed after collision. These may include computer based recalibration for items such as front radars, collision avoidance cameras. American Honda Motor Company states in their position statement on post-collision scanning and diagnostics the following:
“The recommended way to accurately determine the post-collision status of all Honda and
Acura vehicle electronic control systems is with the i-HDS“……
“Front Passenger’s Seat Weight Sensor – Inspections and Calibration:………..
• This check must be done after any collision, regardless of damage, even if no airbags
deployed.”
